chalkboards

Ok so I was going to post to the family blog, but then I was reminded that I have have my own creative blog just for my "moments". I saw this idea in a magazine and decided to try it. Picture frame chalkboards. Had a couple of girls over and this is what i came up with. Some are painted directly on the glass, it will scratch off if attemped, but what are you going to do with the glass? Others are painted on 1/4 plywood from the scraps in the garage, great for kids. There are stamped images as well as vinyl with my chirpy friend, cricut. We have left over scraps from the frame work in the basement and chris said he would make me frames to add some style, so you just have to imagine white frames around them. So the kids saw this project and wanted on ein their rooms. Guess what is for christmas... Ashley for book list...not to keen on it.Michaels...he like the color orange.Jonnys...he has two sides. One cowboy and the other monkey...couldn't decide. Then I kept thinking bigger. I wanted to paint the door going down to the basement, no go for christopher. So instead we bought some galvinized metal and are going to paint that and frame it for a door size magnetic chalkboard. This one is for my brother whos kids enjoys crafts and airplanes. This was my original one for the kitchen...but now I am going BIGGER.
